Healthy Families America direct service staff, program managers and supervisors are required to attend Healthy Families America Primary Training to obtain a comprehensive overview of the program, the Critical Elements and role specific responsibilities. This online course establishes a framework for understanding the program and instructs staff in their specific roles as Family Support Workers.

Healthy Families America Staff taking the online course will follow up with a scheduled 2-day face-to-face training (Part II) with their own state trainer. The online course and the face-to-face course are requirements together for the Healthy Families Family Support Worker Core Certification. This course will be led by an HFA certified instructor and has been reviewed and approved by HFA.

The online course is instructor-led and requires interaction through discussion boards, assessments, and email assignments. Course length is approximately 20.0 hours and is available for a duration of 4 weeks at a time with specific start and end dates.
